PURPOSE:To make it possible to visually detect the limit of the deodorizing capability of the filter by including a deodorizing agent which discolors as its deodorizing capability deteriorates. CONSTITUTION:A deodorizing filter 5 contains in e.g., a honeycomb core 2 a deodorizing agent 1 which discolors as its deodorizing capability deteriorates, and which is fixed by a fiber unwoven fabric 4 via a hot-melt unwoven fabric 3 as an adhesive. Preferably, an activated alumina molded into a spherical form of phi3mm to 5mm is used for the deodorizing agent 1 while being impregnated with 20 to 30% by weight of mixed compounds of copper sulfide-ascorbin acid (mole ratio of 1:1). When the deodorizing filter 5 is integrated into e.g., the main body of an air cleaner, one new part or the whole of the deodorizing agent 1 gradually discolors as it reacts on malodorous materials, so that a user can notice the rate of the discoloring and exchange the deodorizing filter for a new one when needed. |
