PURPOSE:To secure snapshooting performance in constant-magnification photography and to take a picture with proper exposure by calculating and setting focal length on a wide-angle end side than set focal length newly so that lighting is unnecessary when it is judged that flash lighting is required. CONSTITUTION:When a constant-magnification photographic mode is set, a CPU 1 calculates the focal length of a zoom lens 9 from inputted magnification and a subject distance obtained from a range finding circuit 2. On the other hand, an exposure value is calculated from brightness information detected by a photometry circuit 3 to judge whether or not the lighting of a flash light device is required. Then when it is judged that the lighting is required, the focal length on a wider-angle side than said set focal length is calculated and set newly so that the lighting of the flash light device is unnecessary, and then a picture is taken. Consequently, initially set subject size is varied, but photography is performed with proper exposure without requiring any charging time for lighting, and the snapshooting performance is secured. |
