<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an envelope from being lowered and an S/N from deteriorating by arranging a diamond-like hard carbon film(DLC film) on at least a read plane at a part where a drum is brought into contact with a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:The diamond-like hard carbon film(DLC film) 4 is formed with film thickness of 1,000Angstrom at the read groove 1a of a fixed drum 1 by a hydrogen sputtering method in which graphite is targeted. And it is masked so as to perform molding on only the read plane including the groove 1a. The formation of the DLC film can also be performed by using an ion beam deposition method, or an electric field deposition method using high frequency glow. In such a way, wear on the read plane of the drum is scarcely generated even in the long time feed of a tape, and it is possible to prevent the flatness of the envelope from being lowered and the S/N from deteriorating.</p> |
