<p>PURPOSE:To obtain excellent gaseous ethylene adsorbability by using the gaseous ethylene adsorbent contg. hydrous titanium oxide and/or titanium oxide anhydride in various forms, such as powder, grains and pellets. CONSTITUTION:The hydrous or anhydrous oxide soln. of Al, Si, P, B, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Sn, Zr, Nb, Mo, Sb, W, etc., as diluting components or the components to prevent the reduction of the surface area of the adsorbent after sintering is added as an auxiliary agent to an acidic soln. of a titanium compd. having 100g/l TiO2 concn. and is mixed therewith. (This auxiliary agent is incorporated into the gaseous ethylene adsorbent at <=5wt.% by the total weight of the adsorbent.). The pH of this soln. is adjusted to 7.0 by adding ammonia water thereto under stirring and mixing and the soln. is filtered. The resulted filtrate is rinsed and is subjected to repulping, drying and calcining. Such gaseous ethylene adsorbent is used in the form of powder, grains, pellets or a film formed by kneading the same into a resin. The long-term preservation of vegetables and fruits, etc., and the maintenance of the freshness thereof are thus possible.</p> |
