PURPOSE:To utilize the display capacity of both an encoder circuit and a photographic printer maximally while reducing the cost of an internal circuit by bringing the relationship of the number of bits used by the encoder circuit and the number of bits employed by the photographic printer in the number of bits per one picture element quantized in a memory circuit to the different number of bits. CONSTITUTION:A video signal input from an image input terminal 101 is brought to H synchronism by a sync-separation circuit 103 through a buffer 102 and separated to a synchronizing signal and input to a timing control circuit 105. The video signal through the circuit 102 is converted into a digital signal quantized to eight bits by an A10 converter 104, and stored in a memory circuit 106. High order six bits in eight bits per one picture element stored are transmitted to a photographic printer 107, and printing-out is conducted on the basis of the six bits. On the other hand, eight bits in the eight bits of an output from the circuit 106 are encoded to the original video signal by an encoding circuit shown in a dotted line, and monitor-output to an image output terminal 110. |
