The conveyor has a flexible belt (6) arranged for longitudinal movement by a series of roller assemblies (5,5') supported by a number of elongate beams (2). The beams are arranged for extension relative to one another, e.g. by telescoping and/or folding. The length of the belt is variable by using a S-configuration fold around two parallel-axis rollers (8,8') which move relative to one another according to the extension of the beams. The first of the beams is rotatable about a horizontal axis, such that the entire beam assembly is movable in a vertical plane. USE - Transport of materials e.g. concrete to locations with difficult access.
