PURPOSE:To attach and detach an optical fiber plug to and from an optical waveguide substrate repeatedly without being limited to a guide pin interval by providing two guide pin fixation grooves provided to the substrate directly, the guide pins fixed in the fixation grooves, and the optical fiber plug which has guide pin storage holes. CONSTITUTION:The guide pin fixation grooves 24 are formed directly in the optical waveguide substrate 21, so even when the width of the substrate 21 is large, the guide pins 23 are installed without increasing the interval between the guide pins 23. The optical fiber plug 26 has the two parallel storage holes 28 for receiving the guide pins by storing the terminal 27 of an input/output optical fiber in a holder 29. The guide pins 23 are inserted into the guide pin storage holes 28 to connect an optical waveguide terminal 22 to the optical fiber terminal 27 automatically detachably. Consequently, the input/output optical fiber can be fitted detachably to a large-size waveguide type optical component which can not be connected before. |
