PURPOSE:To obtain the title high-strength building material having a matted appearance with good workability by forming a pattern based on the shape of a flaky glass on the surface of a crystallized glass layer obtained by integrating the flaky glassed by fusion. CONSTITUTION:The glass contg., by weight, 50-65% SiO2, 3-13% Al2O3, 15-25% CaO, and 2-10% ZnO and which is softened and fluidized when heated at a temp. higher than the softening point (750-950 deg.C) is rolled to obtain a ribbon- shaped glass having 0.1-5mm thickness. The ribbon-shaped glass is crushed to obtain a flaky glass having 0.1-100cm<2> area per one surface. A part of the ribbon-shaped glass is then water-crushed into a small-bead glass having <=10mm diameter, or the glass is crushed coarsely to obtain a crushed crystallized glass having <=10mm diameter. The flaky glass is then accumulated in a refractory framework framework provided with a mold-releasing material, the small-bead glass and/or the crushed crystallized glass are accumulated thereon, the glasses are heated at a temp. (1000-1200 deg.C) higher than the softening point, integrated by fusion, and crystallized, and a pattern based on the flaky glass is formed on the surface of the flaky crystallized layer. |
