A high-shrinkable elastic yarn is prepd. by direct sPinning & drawing (DSD) of the thermoplastic polyester elastomer comprising the component of formula (I) as hard segment and the component of formula (II) as soft segment. In formulas, D is ethylene glycol, 1.2 propane diol, 1.3 propane diol, 1.4 butane diol, 1.5 pentane diol, 1.6 hexane diol or 1.4 cyclo hexane diol; R is terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, oldphthalic acid, adipic acid, serberic acid, azeraic acid, sebasic acid, 1.4-cyclohexane dicarboxylic acid or lower alkyl ester product tereof.; G is ethylene glycol, propylene glycol or polytetramethylene glycol. The elastic yarn is useful for a foundation dress, ski-wear or support stocking.
