PURPOSE:To positively prevent shock due to shifting by controlling the variation of engine output based on engine revolutions when shock due to shifting is reduced by controlling engine output at the time of shifting an automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION:When shifting is performed by a step type automatic transmission A mounted on a vehicle, the output of an engine B is controlled by an output control means C so that shock due to shifting is thereby reduced. ln this case, the revolution of the engine B is detected by an engine revolution detecting means D. On the other hand, the variation of engine output by the engine output control means C is selectively controlled by as engine output variation control means E. Then, the engine output variation by the engine output control means C is controlled so as to be changed depending on the engine revolution detected by the engine revolution detecting means D. By this constitution, optimum engine output control corresponding to the operating condition of a vehicle is executed, shock due to shifting and the like can thereby be effectively prevented. |
