An improved iontophoresis electrode (10) employing a current distributing member (14) and a drug reservoir (18) containing an ionic drug. The current distribution member (14) is separated from the drug reservoir (18) by means of a membrane or material (16) selective for ions having a charge opposite to the charge of the ionic drug.
