SUPPORT STRUCTURE FOR INPUT SHAFT OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

PURPOSE:To improve the liquid-tight effect by supporting the input shaft of a transmission in the inner periphery of an oil pump cover fitted at a junction between a fluid transmitting device case and a transmission case via a support tube and a bearing. CONSTITUTION:An oil pump cover 31 is fixed at a junction between a case 20 storing a fluid transmitting device and the case 30 of a transmission, and a support tube 34 is press-fitted in its inner periphery. This support tube 34 supports an input shaft 28 with a bush 282 inserted at the engine side end section and a bearing 283 inserted at the opposite side end section. An oil seal bush 286 is inserted between the adjacent support tube 34 and input shaft 28 on the engine side of the bearing 283. The input shaft is surely supported at two points, and the liquid-tight effect can be improved while the evil influence of the three-point support is avoided.
