The detecting means of washing is used for measuring the quantity of washing in the tank of electric washing machine. The detecting process is completed by placing washing into a wash tank, supplying water and measuring the water supplying time. The detection includes three steps. The first step detects the switching-on time of level sensor (8) on the minimum level and decides a quantity of water through the supply valve (4). The second step supplies water to the decided level. The third step decides conditions of washing, rinsing, dehydration.
