PURPOSE:To increase charge-discharge cycle performance by reconstructing lead-antimony base alloy structure by heat treatment for eliminating a high antimony content part such as beta-phase. CONSTITUTION:Lead-antimony base alloy structure is reconstruced by heat treatment for eliminating high antimony content part such as beta-phase. For example, a lead alloy containing 0.4-3% antimony is casted, and heated in an atmosphere of 220-250 deg.C for several hours, then quenched. By this heat treatment, the structure of the lead alloy shows a specific structure in which beta-phase melts in beta-phase differently from conventional dentrite structure. This solid solution phase has high corrosion resistance compared with beta-phase of eutectic structure, and elution of antimony is prevented. |
