PURPOSE:To perform a color display using only one kind of phosphor with excellent characteristics and to obtain a color fluorescent display tube with its built-in elements being inconspicuous and having an excellent contrast by providing a plurality of filters of different translucent colors on the inner face of a transparent insulation substate and by laminating a transparet anode electrode and a phosphor in tun on individual filters. CONSTITUTION:A color filter layer 12 is composed of a red color filter 12R, a green color filter 12G, and a blue color filter 12B. An anode electrode 14 and a phosphor 15 are laminated in turn corresponding to individual color filters on the color filter layer 12 through an insulation layer 13, and in addition, a control grid 16 is arranged above them. The individual color filters, anode electrode 14 above it, and phosphor 15 have a stripe-like structure. The anode electrode 14 and control grid 16 are properly selected so that the phosphor 15 formed on said anode electrode 14 luminesces, and the light is observed from the side of a glass substrate 11 through the color filter 12, thus the color display can be performed. |
