<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate installation of a device concerned and maintenance, inspection, etc., of the same by arranging a clutch mechanism, and a torque sensing mechanism approx. on the same plane together with a torsion spring, which couples together a steering wheel side element and a steering gear side element with capability of relative rotation. CONSTITUTION:In a motor-driven power steering device, in which a steering wheel 2 is installed to the top of a steering shaft 1 through a boss 3, a boss part 3 is constructed by installing a lower disc 5 and an upper disc 7 consolidated, wherein a ring-shaped slide disc 8 equipped with a plurality of guide pieces 9 is arranged between the two first named discs 5, 7. To this slide disc 8 the steering wheel 2 is fixed. A plurality of leaf springs 10 as torsion spring are installed on the peripheral wall 6 of the lower disc 5, and the slide disc 8 is supported with possibility of relative rotation with respect to the lower disc 5. This amount of relative rotation is sensed by a torque sensing mechanism 19 situated inside of the peripheral wall 6, and the lower disc 5 is rotated through a clutch mechanism 14 with rotation of a motor output shaft 12 based on the output therefrom.</p> |
