PURPOSE: To easily put away and control fins by forming a notches on fins of a metallic bar material with a notching device and removing the fins after making them into small pieces with a cutting blade when removing from the metallic bar material continuously molded. CONSTITUTION: A notching device 10 is provided with a plurality of blades 12 for notching and these blades 12 are pressed on fins 17 of a bar material 20. As a result, a V-cut, that is, a notch 16 is imparted to the fins 17 and this notch 16 facilitates the change of the fins 17 into small pieces 14 when the fins 17 is removed from the bar material 20 by the blade 13 for cutting. The blades 12 for notching are mounted on a cylindrical carrier 11 so that the blades 12 may be removed from the carrier 11 and this carrier 11 has a diameter of about 3 inches. When the bar material 20 comes into contact with the carrier 11 in a tangential direction at nominal molding speed of about 50 feet. per minute, the carrier 11 revolves by 64 revolution per minute. The small pieces 14 are easy to put away and control than a long object, so that the maintenance and removal of fins are made easy. |
