The furniture comprises uprights 1a and 1b and crosspieces 2a and 2b. The crosspieces have a substantially diamond-shaped transverse profile whose oblique faces serve for the fixing of the uprights, of a working surface 22, or of surrounds 27, 41 for computer equipment such as cathode-ray screen equipment. Use for rationalising the arrangement of computer equipment in the sense of ergonomics and economy of floor space with the possibility of adaptation to very diverse needs. <IMAGE>
