In order to detect a connection between two pipelines, on each of these is provided an end-fitting 1, 2 forming part of a connector which further includes a seal 15 for providing sealing between the said end-fittings when they are connected, one of the said end-fittings having a pipe 16A, 16B made in its thickness, opening out into a zone 11 in contact with the seal when the end-fittings are connected; the said pipe is connected to a pneumatic pressure source by means of a pipe 18; and whether or not there is pressure present in the said pipe is detected. <IMAGE>
