PURPOSE: To realize a connection without any play of the connection made by means of connecting a shift control lever divided into two pieces by providing an elastic collar on one of the control lever and a second collar engaging with the elastic collar by a screw joint on the other lever. CONSTITUTION: An outboard motor 10 gains its thrust by the rotation of a propeller shaft 28 generated by the power from an internal combustion engine 14 arranged on the upper part of the outboard motor 10 through a drive shaft 22, bevel gear lines 30, 32, a jaw clutch 34 and a propeller shaft 26. A bell crank 40 provided as a means for shifting the jaw clutch 34 is driven through a shift control lever 50. In this case, the shift control lever 50 is divided into the upper and lower parts with the upper end of the lower lever 66 provided with a screw end 70 having an inside screw 72 and the lower end 76 of the upper lever 64 provided with a headed conical elastic collar 80 to be fitted to a ring groove 78 formed on the lower end 76 with a collar 86 screwable into the inside screw 72 loosely fitted therein, thus composes a connection means. |
