PURPOSE:To prevent influence due to space loss by dislocating a gap position to record and reproduce a signal in the direction of the projecting side of a magnetic tape to travel from the peak of the contour. CONSTITUTION:A center Q of a radius R of the contour of an A/C head 9 is positioned at a conventional place, and a peak 9d is also at the conventional place. On the other hand, the gap of centers 9a', 9b' and 9c' of core parts 9a, 9b and 9c is set to the position dislocated by 0.1 to 0.2'mm in the direction of the tape projecting side more than the position of the peak 9d of the contour. When a magnetic tape 2 is travelled in the direction of an arrow A, a magnetic powder peeled off from the magnetic tape 2 stays near the incident side from the peak 9d of the contour, but the position of the gap is positioned on the emitting side rather than the peak 9d of the contour, therefore, the generation of the space loss can be prevented beforehand. |
