Semi-automatic device for washing protective clothing, such as slaughterhouse aprons consisting of a piece made from a flexible and leakproof material, preferably rubber, characterised in that it includes, on the one hand, an automatic roller inserter 9, 10, 11 leading the aprons 4 after they have been sprayed with clean water, at a linear speed "V" between two circular tangential brushes 7, 8 which are driven and rotate in opposite directions, at a sufficient speed to create a washing friction and, on the other hand, a discharge belt 6 the endless rolling length 15 of which is preferably made from a material which is similar to that of the aprons 4, located at the exit and in line with the friction line of the circular brushes 7, 8, the direction of movement of the belt 15 being perpendicular to the said line of contact, and the linear speed of movement of the said belt 15 being greater than or equal to the speed "V" of insertion of the aprons 4. <IMAGE>
