The present invention relates to the novel 5-carbamoylthiazolidines of the formula I <IMAGE> in which X represents O or S, y represents O or S, R<1> represents alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, each of which is optionally substituted, R<2> represents alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, each of which is optionally substituted, to their preparation and to their use. Preferred compounds of the formula I are those in which X represents O or S and Y represents O.
