PURPOSE:To suppress the oil leak on the periphery of a hydraulic tappet on the engine stop by installing each communication passage for the communication between the edge part of the higher place of an oil introducing passage and oil galleries and thrust bearing parts. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder head 1 which is inclined by a prescribed angle is equipped with an oil introducing passage 23 drilled towards the higher place than oil galleries 20 and 21 under the thrust bearing parts 8 and 9, communication passages 24 and 25 for the communication between the edge part of the higher place of the oil introducing passage 23 and the oil galleries 20 and 21, and air vent passages 27 and 28 for the communication between the edge part of the higher place of the oil introducing passage 23 and the thrust bearing parts 8 and 9. Since the air vent passages 27 and 28 communicate to the edge part of the higher place of the oil introducing passage 23, oil stays in the oil galleries 20 and 21 at the lower place than the oil introducing passage 23 after the engine stop. Therefore, even after the engine stop, oil is secured in an oil hydraulic tappet communicating to the oil galleries 20 and 21, and the starting performance of the engine can be improved. |
