In an actuating device, especially for a linkage controller, having a foot lever (foot pedal) (2) to be actuated whilst seated, the latter is united with a control lever arm (11) allocated to its base to form a cranked lever and is articulated at the point of rotation (axis of rotation 4) at the free end of a frame (5) usable as a single-armed lever movable in the same direction of rotation and which can be fixed in any adjustable angular position. The control lever arm (11), in so doing, forms a four-bar mechanism via a coupling rod (12) with a rocker arm (13) which can be moved about the axis of rotation of the frame, the four-bar mechanism being a two-armed lever on whose free lever arm (13.1) a control rod (1) is articulated. For supporting the foot, a footrest (18) is provided on the frame (5) in the region of the base of the foot lever (2), which footrest (18) is capable of angular movement about its axis of rotation (4) and is supported on the positioning plane (3) of the frame (5) via a coupling rod (19), the latter being articulated on the footrest (18) and on the positioning plane (3), in each case with the same spacing from the axis of rotation of the foot lever and frame (4 and 6), and the spacing between the two articulation points (20, 21) of the coupling rod (19) being equal to the spacing between the axis of rotation of the foot lever and the frame (4 and 6). <IMAGE>
