Forced air blower

A description is given of a system composed of a blower and evaporator (12). The housing of the blower consists of the evaporator (12), which is constructed as a gilled evaporator and is arranged around the roller-shaped impeller (18) of the blower. The gilled evaporator (12) is arranged in the refrigerant circuit of a refrigerating unit (refrigeration package) and is preferably used as an evaporator in a refrigerator or the like operated by means of recirculating air. In this application, the motor (10) is preferably a piston motor which is connected to the refrigerant circuit and driven by means of refrigerant vapour. The forced air evaporator has a particularly good and constant efficiency, because its entire heat-exchanging surface is and remains exposed continuously to the complete air flow. The design of the forced air evaporator is simple, because the gilled evaporator itself forms the blower housing. The gills are of annular shape and are joined externally to one another over a greater portion of their circumference and are joined to one another continuously in a radial fashion over a lesser portion of their circumference, with the result that cells are formed between them which form a suction channel of diminishing size and, adjacent thereto, an expanding pressure channel. <IMAGE>
