Apparatus for the collection and bundling of stackable elements

In an apparatus for the collection and bundling of stackable elements, especially sheet-like elements, such as rectangular periodicals, it is proposed that a container open or to be opened at the top, preferably one with an inner bottom or cross-sectional area matched approximately to the shape and size of the elements to be collected, be provided at least with a flexible string-like bundling member which serves for bundling and which is fixed releasably in the region of its end portions directly or indirectly to mutually opposite upper edges of the container and, starting from these edges, runs through the interior of the container and over the bottom area of the latter. Such an apparatus allows in a simple way an ordered collection and easy subsequent bundling of the elements, without the latter previously being extracted from the container.
