PURPOSE:To prepare hydroxyphenyl substituted fatty acids at a high yield by reacting a halogenophenyl substituted fatty acid and alkali under a mild condition by using a bis-copper II with a specific structure as the catalyst for preparing hydroxyphenyl substituted fatty acids. CONSTITUTION:As the catalyst for preparing hydroxyphenyl substituted fatty acids shown by a formula II by reacting a halogenophenyl substituted fatty acids shown by a general formulaI(wherein X is a halogen atom, R1-3 are H, a lowr alkyl group or the like, R4 is H or a lower alkyl group, m is a integer of 1, 2, l, n are integers of 0-2) with an alkali, a bis-copper II shown by a formula III is used. This catalyst prepares hydroxyphenyl substituted fatty acids at a high yield under a mild condition in temp., pressure or the like. |
