The switch of a workplace luminaire having a particularly small luminaire head (10) is arranged in the hinge bowl (14, 16) of an adjusting hinge which is present in the linkage of the luminaire, and can be switched by means of an actuating handle (78), projecting outwardly from the hinge bowl (14, 16), of a switch lever (70). <IMAGE>
