摘要 |
The improvement claim for an exhaust gas catalyst for internal combustion engines, appropriately characterised by the use of a catalytic metal oxide, is conceived in such a way that the known disadvantages of hitherto fitted catalyst types with temperature sensitivity, lead sensitivity, exhaust gas back-pressure with a drop in the performance of the engine and increased gasoline consumption are substantially diminished or no longer arise. The exhaust gas catalyst with catalytic metal oxide does not form a compound with the lead from leaded gasoline, as is the case with rare metal catalysts. The oxide catalyst should be located as close as possible downstream of the exhaust manifold, in order to burn the lead content from leaded gasoline to non-poisonous lead oxide, in contrast to the temperature-sensitive rare metal catalyst which must be located at an appropriate distance from the exhaust manifold. For exhaust gas problems of various types, the oxide catalyst is a useful alternative, in particular for the filling station market, so that the existing problem for unleaded gasoline abroad is eliminated.
