PURPOSE:To stabilize the machining performance by predicting the energy drop quantity of a laser beam in a machining point which follows up a progressive oscillation time of the laser beam, controlling an output of a laser oscillator in accordance with this prediction quantity and controlling a feeding speed of a machining torch. CONSTITUTION:When a metallic ion adheres to the surface of a condensing lens 4 and the energy quantity in a machining point drops, an output of a laser oscillator 1 and a welding speed (driving speed of a driving device 9) are adjusted so that the energy quantity in the working point always holds a prescribed value. A control means 10 is provided with a function generating means for showing an output as time elapses from the initial energy quantity in the machining point. As an accumulated oscillation time of the laser oscillator 1 elapses after an overhaul of the condensing lens is performed, the output of the laser oscillator and the welding speed can be controlled, based on a functional expression. In such a way, a drop with the lapse of time of the energy quantity of the laser beam in the machining point does not occur, therefore, the machining performance of a laser beam machine can be stabilized extending over a long period of time. |
