<p>The overflow channel of a settling tank is cleaned by a rotating brush assembly 54 which is carried round the tank on a bracket 17 secured to the rotating arm which carries the tank floor-scraper. Brush assembly 54 is rotated by a motor 50 and cleans the floor and sides of the channel and the weir plate. Various wheels guide the device along the channel, and the mounting allows some relative vertical movement of the assembly 54 relative to bracket 17. If pin 32 is removed, the device can be pivoted about pin 28 for maintenance. In Fig. 3 the pins are omitted, and the brush assembly is vertically lifted from the channel by a ratchet wheel when necessary. <IMAGE></p> |
