<p>The endless ribbon (R) recirculates through a chamber (3) pulled by drive wheels (7 and 4) on the right of the chamber and is drawn through slots and free running pulleys on the left. These provisions are provided both for fabric ribbons and for nylon film. With due consideration of the rather different pliability of the two materials, slots, pulleys, etc. must be arranged differently for them; however, they can be arranged side by side, and some of them may be shared. If fabric is used, the ribbon is drawn through a slot (23a) in an antechamber (24), pass through slot (25a) and is displaced by bars (26a,26b) to create extra friction. If the less pliable nylon film is used, it must be drawn through a lower slot (23b), then through another slot (25a) and then pass over pulley (28) to the opening in the frame at the top (at 21a).</p> |
