Two paper surfaces, upon undergoing the action of knurling for sealing the surfaces together, have a moisture content of between 5 and 98 per cent by weight referred to the dry weight of the paper. Paper sheet in the form of an envelope is folded by folder 17, and moistened by jets of atomised water from spraying heads 18 before being knurled by rollers. Further moistening by nozzles 20 of device 19 followed by folding and sealing by knurling rollers 21 can be achieved. <IMAGE> |
