PURPOSE:To obtain a spiral body made of a synthetic resin having a desired shape with good accuracy, by setting a first water tank to one wherein the surface area of water is small and a water level is kept constant by the overflow of supplied water and making it possible to adjust the distance between the surface of water and a die. CONSTITUTION:When a resin is extruded into a first water tank 18, for example, in a strip form while the die is rotated, the strip like resin receives the resistance of cooling water and solidified in a state mainly twisted spirally between the die 14 and cooling water and passes through the guide pipe 32 in the first water tank 18 to enter a second water tank 20 and further cooled. The resin is upwardly guided while engaged with the peripheral groove of the guide drum 40 in the second water tank 20 and further horizontally guided by a guide roller 42 to enter a third water tank 22. The spiral body 34 is almost perfectly solidified in the second water tank 20. When the pitch or shape of the spiral body 34 is shifted from a desired one, a rising and falling stand 36 minutely rises and falls to correct shift. |
