PURPOSE:To prevent the capacity deterioration owing to overdischarge by providing a layer including a larger amount of antimony on the surface of a grid, and including trilead tetroxide in the lead oxide of the lead paste. CONSTITUTION:At a part of the surface of a grid body, a layer including a larger amount of antimony is formed, and moreover, as the material of lead paste used as an active substance, trilead tetroxide is used adding to lead oxide. The layer including a larger amount of antimony includs 1.0wt.% or more of antimony, and the amount of the trilead tetroxide included in the lead paste is 10wt.% or more of the lead powder. As a result, a synergism of the suppression of reformation and deformation of oxidation-corrosive layer of the grid alloy, the porosity and the property of the active substance, the close adhesion at the interfaces of the grid and the active substance, and the like, is generated, and the overdischarge property is improved. |
