A timing circuit responds to an input signal forming an interrupt signal for a microcomputer and produces data representing set time control of the input signal. A measuring circuit measures the period of the input signal in accordance with these data. An arithmetic unit computes the frequency of the input signal at intervals given by the measuring circuit output. Signal generators controlled by the input signal are set by the imput signal and reset by the computing operation in the arithmetic unit. A masking unit controlled by the second signal generator determines whether the interrupt signal is fed to the computer.
