PURPOSE:To speedily select an optimum system for a machine by providing an initial scan mode input means and a means setting a scan mode designated as an initial state when a mode capable of achieving any scan system is selected. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 81 initializes by turning on a main switch, and sets the scan mode for moving an original and optical system by turning on/off a switch 77. When the mode that any scan system can achieve is selected as the copying mode, the scan mode designated as the initial state is set in execution. To set the scan mode, the connection of a sorter to the copying machine is checked, and if it is connected with a sort mode selected, the scan mode designated in initialization is set. When a grouping mode is set as a copying mode, an optical system moving scan mode is selected because copy paper is sorted out for each original, and processing is accelerated. Under this constitution, an optimum scan system for a user can be previously selected, and therefore he need not decide the system by himself. |
