PURPOSE:To economically obtain oxygen enriched air by separating air into hot air and cold air, passing the cold air through an adsorbent to remove nitrogen and moisture, cooling a hot adsorbent with the resulting oxygen enriched air and mixing this air with the hot air. CONSTITUTION:Air sent through a compressor 10 is separated into cold air 11A and hot air 11B with a vortex tube 11. The cold air 11A is introduced into an adsorbent packed column 1C and enriched with oxygen. This oxygen enriched air is introduced into an adsorbent packed column 1B and cools the adsorbent made hot in the preceding stage. The air preheated by heat exchange is then mixed with the warm air 11B to regulate the concn. of oxygen and the mixture is used as air for combustion in a boiler 9. Economical oxygen enriched air is obtd. while saving energy. |
