PURPOSE:To contrive the reduction of the power consumption of the whole without protracting the warm-up time of a fixing device by lowering the maximum power consumption of the fixing device after a copying machine becomes a ready state. CONSTITUTION:Until a copying machine becomes a ready state, a duty ratio is controlled by a microcomputer 11 so as to become prescribed maximum power consumption. When a fixing device 14 reaches a prescribed temperature, the computer 11 refers to a table which is set in advance and controls heaters 15, 24 of the fixing device, and lowers the maximum power consumption by a power portion consumed only in the course of copying of an exposure lamp and a motor, etc. In such a way, the power consumption of the whole copying machine can be equalized hourly, and the power consumption of the whole is reduced. |
