PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of a photosensitive drum and the blade of a cleaning device before the drum and blade contribute to image formation by maintaining the drum and blade in a non-contacted state before they are mounted on a picture forming device and in a contacted state after they are mounted once. CONSTITUTION:Before a photosensitive drum 1 and blade 23 are mounted on a picture forming device, a supporting member 27 is engaged with an inhibiting means 31 and the blade 24 and drum 14 are held in a state where the front end of the blade 24 is not brought into contact with the outer peripheral section of the drum 1. When the drum 14 and blade 24 are mounted on an upper unit 3 and an image forming state is set, the inhibiting operation of the means 31 is canceled and the blade 24 is moved toward the drum 14 by the energizing means 30 until the front end of the blade 24 is brought into contact with the outer peripheral section of the drum 14. Then the press-contacted state of the blade 24 is maintained under the same condition even when the image forming state is canceled by raising the upper unit 3. Therefore, deformation of the drum 14 and blade 24 and changes in the characteristics of the drum 14 and blade 24 are prevented.
