ARRANGEMENT FOR GENERATING A SEQUENCE OF BINARY-WEIGHTED VALUES OF AN ELECTRICAL QUANTITY

The system generates a series of values of an electrical variable behaving as members of a geometric series for A/D and D/A converters using capacitors and switches. Charge is halved by switching one capacitor to another. An arrangement of capacitor sections forming a ladder is provided. Each section has two or more capacitors switched alternately in series and parallel by electronic switches controlled by clock signals. When the capacitors in one section are in parallel those in the next are in series.
