The present invention relates to a method and a device for feeding chemicals into a liquid or suspension that is to be treated. The method and the device according to the invention are especially well suited not only to feeding bleaching and other chemicals or the like into a fibre pulp in the cellulose and paper industry, but also, for example, to feed chemicals in connection with various treatment processes for untreated water and waste water. The method according to the invention is characterised in that the chemical(s) is/are fed into the liquid/the suspension that is to be treated so that, with a force proportional to the process pressure, a change is caused to the shape of a spring element forming part of the apparatus, a feed opening for the chemical(s) opening and the chemical(s) being fed into the liquid/the suspension with a pressure that is essentially greater than this pressure. The device for feeding chemicals according to the invention is, for its part, characterised in that the feed opening of the nozzle 21 is designed to open against a spring force under the effect of the feed pressure of the chemical(s), the feed pressure of the chemical being essentially greater than the pressure of the liquid/the suspension that is to be treated. <IMAGE>
