PURPOSE:To enable cooling to be sufficiently attained even by a small cooler by providing a lamp current control means or the like which controls an electric current in an excitation lamp in a manner wherein a laser beam of output value, set by an output setting means, is oscillated when a shutter is opened. CONSTITUTION:When an operation switch 35 is turned on, an electric current (threshold current) of minimum region, necessary for oscillating a laser beam, is allowed to flow in a krypton lamp 3. Under this condition, when a foot switch 36 is turned on, a shutter 6 is opened by an output signal from a microcomputer 31, and the laser beam is instantaneously started in its oscillation. And a flow of the current in the krypton lamp 3 is controlled so that the actual output value of an oscillating laser, detected by an output sensor 38, is equal to a preset value. When the foot switch 36 is turned off, the shutter 6 is closed returning to an operation condition. Thus decreasing a heat generation amount in a condition except in the time of laser oscillation, a laser device can be sufficiently cooled by a small cooler. |
