PURPOSE:To prevent increase of internal resistance during storage or discharge and to decrease capacity deterioration after storage of a battery by using artificial graphite having a mean particle size of 50mu or less as graphite powder to be mixed. CONSTITUTION:In the figure, a numeral 1 is a sealing plate which also serves as a negative terminal, comprising a clad plate clothed with copper or tin in its inner surface to stainless steel and its circumference is curved so as to have L-shape cross section. 2 is a battery case which also serves as a positive terminal, comprising nickel plated steel or stainless steel. 3 is a negative electrode mainly comprising amalgamated zinc powder, 4 is an electrolyte absorbent material maily comprising ''nylon'' nonwoven fabric or cotton. 5 is a separator comprising a semipermeable membrance such as cellophane. 6 is a positive black mix prepared by press-molding a mixture of artificial graphite powder having a mean particle powder of 50mu or less relating to this invention and silver oxide, silver peroixde, mercuric oxide, or manganese dioxide. |
