PURPOSE:To enable employment of a magnetic mechanism even to a recorder driven in an uniaxial direction, by a method wherein the magnetic mechanism is used for installation and removal of a recording pen to and from a pen holder, and a pen holding portion is provided with a directional property. CONSTITUTION:A surface of a recording pen 2 is formed of a magnetic material, and installation and removal to and from a moving pen holder 9 and a stationary pen holder 10 are performed by magnets 17 and 18. Directional properties of the pen holding portions of the holders 9 and 10 coincide with each other, and the moving direction of the pen is also identical to said directional property. If a pen replacing command is issued, the holder 9 suspends recording and moves to a direction C, it reaches the coincidence point of the pen holder of the holder 10 being unoccupied, and the holder 10 turns by 45 deg. in a direction E and seizes a pen 2. In a reverse operation, a desired pen is delivered through rotation in a direction F of the holder 10, and a recording is carried out. This permits the use of a magnetic mechanism with even a recorder driven in an uniaxial direction. |
