PURPOSE:To enhance the charging performance of a battery which is allowed to stand after overdsicahrge by forming a PbF2.SnO composite oxide on the surface of a positive current collector. CONSTITUTION:A PbF2.SnO composite oxide is formed on the surface of a positive current collector. Since the PbF2.SnO composite oxide has high electric conductivity, good sulfuric acid resistance and oxidation resistance, electric conductivity between the current collector and an active material is kept good. Since the composite oxide layer prevents the corrosion of the current collector, the surface of the current collector is hardly converted into a lead sulfate layer. Even if the lead sulfate layer is formed on the current collector, since the PbF2.SnO composite oxide exists in the lead sulfate layer, charging current can flow through the composite oxide. |
