<p>PURPOSE:To improve the thermal efficiency by a method wherein combustion gas is past through a partition made of gas-permeable solid and, after that, past through a secondary heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:The high temperature combustion gas at 800-1,000 deg.C, which is cooled to about 300-400 deg.C during passing through the heat exchanger 10 part, is then past through the partition 14. In this case, because the partition is made of gas-permeable solid with large surface area, it is heated to high temperature by heat convection. On the other hand, the combustion gas is cooled to about 200 deg.C during passing through the partition 14 and sent, passing the side of a condensate receiver 18, to the secondary heat exchanger part and cooled further there down to below the dew point of the superheated steam in the combustion gas by being heat-exchanged with the cold water from a feed water port 5. Consequently, the combustion gas is effectively utilized for heating the cold water flowing in the secondary heat exchanger 15.</p> |
