The evaporator comprises sepd. parts from top to bottom in several sections, pref. in 3. Each section has a heating jacket on the outside, equipped with steam inlet and drain outlet. The temp. of the jackets are controlled opt. to keep lower temp. at top and higher at bottom sections, step by step. High polymer and solvent are mixed with strong agitation to produce the sludge, which is introduced into the evaporator from top into first section, in which the sludge is deaired and warmed and flows to second section with a higher temp. than the first section. The polymer is dissolved throughly and the solvent is evaporated, and the produced conc. soln. of high polymer is discharged from bottom to outside.
