Manufacture of glass articles. A drop of glass 20 is produced by gravity at the bottom of a passage 21 of a tank or channel for molten glass 1. During its formation a burner flame 23 is directed towards the bottom of the drop 20 to heat the lower part and to obliterate the cutting mark left by the preceding cut in the upper place by the shears 7 and 8.
